Bichectomy Cheek Fat Removal
Are you unhappy with an overly round facial appearance? If so, a bichectomy can help. This procedure will remove buccal fat pads located in your cheeks. These types of stubborn fat deposits are notoriously unresponsive to changes in diet and exercise routines. No amount of running around the block or guzzling down smoothies will help. This is where our bichectomy procedure performed in Miami comes in.
Bichectomy: Good Candidates
You may make a good candidate for a cheek bichectomy procedure if you are in one of the following categories:
* Your face is overly round.
* You desire a more youthful face.
* You have bags of fat around your cheeks that make you appear overweight, even though you may not be.
Cheek surgery
Our cheek surgery offered in Miami helps patients who have overly round cheeks or faces, and those who feel that their face has a heavy look to it. The bichectomy procedure is ideal for correcting these problems. It allows for greater facial feature definition in the middle third of the face. The bichectomy allows you to achieve a thinner facial look that is also harmoniously balanced, while also being completely safe.
Neck surgery
Neck surgery is another procedure that is commonly associated with the cheek area. Other types of cosmetic surgeries that are linked with the bichectomy are body contouring and the tummy tuck procedure for anyone desiring a slimmer appearance, while preserving harmony in their bodies and faces. Dr. Antún at HD Esthetique performs neck surgery here in Miami.
The Procedure
The bichectomy is performed on an outpatient basis under local anesthesia. Once the anesthesia has completely taken effect, Dr. Antún will form an incision within your cheek. He will then use forceps to remove any fat bags. Finally, he will suture it and repeat the process with the other cheek. After completion of your procedure, he will place a compressive bandage into place. The entire procedure should take under one hour to complete.
Procedure Aftercare
It is normal to experience some minor discomfort, swelling, and bruising immediately after your bichectomy procedure. You may shower and bathe the day following your bichectomy procedure at our Miami clinic. Although light activity is permissible, refrain from heavy lifting or vigorous physical activity during the first three days after your procedure. For one week after your bichectomy, avoid impact cardio exercises and aerobics.
Bichectomy Results
Our bichectomy procedure patients in Miami often wonder when they will begin noticing results from a cosmetic procedure. In the case of bichectomy, you should notice some reduction in buccal fat pads in around two months. You will need to exercise some patience while your swelling and inflammation subsides, especially if you are having your bichectomy performed in conjunction with another type of procedure. Give it at least two months before you judge the final result of your procedure.
